Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya AFS Sulur ("we", "our", or "the School") operates the Digital Library Management System (dlms.kvsulur.in) to facilitate book circulation, catalog access, educational reading challenges, and reading tracking for our students and educators.

This Privacy Policy outlines how student and staff personal data is collected, used, and protected when accessing the DLMS web portal and Google Sign-In features.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum necessary information required to maintain library records and manage authentication:

• Student School Information: Student Admission Number, Student Name, Assigned Class/Section, and Roll Number provided by school records.
• Google Account Information (When using Sign-In with Google): Primary Google email address, Google account ID, and display name. We access this strictly via standard Google OAuth 2.0 (userinfo.email, userinfo.profile, openid) to authenticate student identities and associate login credentials with their school library records.
• Library Usage Data: Books borrowed, return dates, reading challenge submissions, reviews, quiz performance, and earned reading points.

We do NOT request, access, or store any sensitive personal data, contacts, location data, or payment information.

3. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used strictly for school library purposes:

• To authenticate students and staff logging into the library system.
• To link student Google accounts to their official 5-digit library admission number.
• To track book issues, overdue notifications, and library inventory.
• To record student participation in reading programs, book reviews, and academic quizzes.
• To communicate library-related reminders such as return dates.

4. Google User Data Policy Compliance

Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements:

• We only request Google OAuth scopes necessary to authenticate your identity (email address and profile name).
• We never sell, rent, or transfer your Google user data to any external third parties or advertisers.
• We never use Google user data for advertising, marketing, or behavioral targeting.

5. Advertising and Cookies (Google AdSense)
